Set Your Mind - It's Always Day

Set Your Mind…

What was your first thought this morning?

How are you setting your mind first thing in the morning or who are you allowing to set it for you?

How was that thought manifested?

Are you setting your mind that you are still on Day 1 of your business and what is an example of Day 2?

How do you know you are still behaving like a start-up company?

What was your Day 1 Strategy and how does it compare to the way the business operates today?

What would the person who first launched your company say to today’s version of yourself?

“Don’t wait for the world to change. Change your mind about the world.”
― Alan Cohen

Mindset is everything you need to succeed and consider the term an illusion. How could that possibly be when we are constantly bombarded with the idea that we need a productive or positive mindset? Mindset isn’t an actual thing. Frankly, the term mindset is improperly used the majority of the time. When it is used in the correct context, it is your superpower against adversity.

Mindset is often used in the form of a noun, which as you already know refers to a person, place, or thing. Setting your mind however is used in the verb tense, or as an action. You don’t wake up in the morning and place a mindset hat on your head. Rather, you set your intention or set your mind on what you intend to accomplish that day. Sadly, the majority of days people wake up and immediately grab their cell phone only to be sucked into the chaos of yesterday. When we fail to set our mind, we fall victim to switching to autopilot and do whatever it is we’ve previously done.

Author of ”Think Like a Monk” Jay Shetty says that grabbing your phone as your first act of the day is like inviting 1000 strangers into your bedroom and starting a conversation with you at once. How can we possibly set any kind of intention when we start with a device totally designed to grab your attention and transport it elsewhere? Do yourself a favor, stop using your phone as your alarm. Get a physical alarm clock and leave your phone in another room…(YOU WON’T WANT TO DO THIS AND THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW THE PHONE IS WINNING!!!)

Set Your Mind Daily:

·    Wake Up…

·    Set Your Mind…Start with written Intentions for the day…(Preferably set the previous evening or better yet at the beginning of the week)

·    Take-Action…

·    Don’t Give Up…

·    Repeat …
